Welcome to Docent Council

The AHS Docent Council is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting the Arizona History Museum Education and Outreach division in Tucson.

They lead tours of museum exhibits, monitor exhibits, fundraise, and assist with outreach programs and special events.

How can I become a Docent?

• Email Education Staff or call (520) 617-1153 with any questions
• Fill out an online Volunteer Interest Form. You may also print and submit it to the Education division via fax or mail to:

Once the form has been received, Education staff will contact you for an interview.

Minimum Docent Requirements

• Docents must be willing to commit to being a docent for at least one year
  
• Docents should enjoy working with children and have an interest in history
  
• Docents must be available at least 1 day a week for tours or to monitor our exhibits
