Food fads come and go, but wild foods are forever. Foraging wild foods has been the primary means by which humans have survived. But only recently have modern humans in the United States started to rediscover that wild foods are delicious. The Sonoran Desert has 450 edible wild foods. If you stalk the wild foods experts, they’ll lead you to discover and experience the foods that foragers have enjoyed here, for more than 10,000 years.
Join Laura Cortelyou and the Arizona Historical Society for a virtual event on Saturday, April 10 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. to learn about the Placekeepers who teach, write, and give guided tours as ethnographers and foodways experts as well as the Tastemakers who are chefs, brewers, and purveyors creating Sonoran wild foods cuisine and libations.
Free program, but registration is required to receive the Zoom link.
