22jun7:00 pm8:00 pmEvening Lecture: Abandoned ArizonaRiordan Mansion State Historic Park

Event Details

Many of Arizona’s once-thriving mining communities are now ghost towns, they are nestled in picturesque valleys and harsh desert mountain ranges. Arizona is also home to a popular stretch of America’s beloved Route 66, where trading posts remain, and although long abandoned, they still have vibrant, visual stories to tell. Irresistible sunsets are an Arizona trademark, so too should be its slowly disintegrating past, we must be mindful of what we leave behind before we move on to what’s next.

Susan Tattersall hosts a discussion of Arizona’s dusty ghost towns and silent concrete masterpieces during this FREE evening lecture. From Ruby, Arizona near the US/Mexico border to Route 66 in the north country, Tattersall will present both oral and visual stories of communities in the state long abandoned and left behind.
