Event Details

Why is homelessness on the rise in cities across America? According to the most recent Maricopa Association of Governments annual point-in-time count, at least 6,600 people are experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. Unsheltered homelessness has also been increasing for the past six years. Hear perspectives from community advocates who are working to restore dignity and compassion, ensure public safety while not criminalizing homelessness, and determine policies and funding priorities to fight the problem. Join the Arizona Heritage Center for a program and Q&A to learn about the impact of homelessness and explore potential solutions for in our community.

Featuring:

  • Jon Linton, founder of the I Have A Name Project
  • Lt. Mykel Moller and Commander Orender with the City of Phoenix
  • Bruce Liggett, the Director of Maricopa County Human Services
  • Moderated by Melissa Kovacs, Ph.D., founder of FirstEval, LLC and Associate Director of Research at the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at ASU
